I am comparing it to the Grabner K 14. Both mouthpieces are reed friendly. I had on hand 5 different brand of reeds in Strengths from 2 to 3 1/2. Only the 2 gave a problem. Intonation was good on both pieces for all registers and at all volumns with the Krass coming out better at the high end.

The Krass has a dark tone at the low end and gets brighter at the high end with a little buzz to the tone. Buzz can be controled with the selection of brand of reed. I found that high register very easy to play on the Krass.

Reeds are like Ice cream. Everybody likes a different flavor. For me it is Mitchell Lurie 2 1/2. That is for now. I just tried a new reed ( for me it's new ). It is called "My Masterpiece ". I got them from Weiner. I would like to say it's the best I have ever played but I only played one for about a half hour. So the jury is out on that reed. So I did most of my play testing of the 2 mouthpieces on the Mitchell Lurie 2 1/2.
