I've recently become the proud owner of a fleamarket Jerome Thibouville-Lamy Boehm. But I'm not quite sure what I've got...!

The UJ and bell have the maker's marks. The UJ is the right length for a standard modern Bb and carries serial no. 2xxC.

The LJ is something of a conundrum, carrying serial 3xxxC and being half an inch longer than a standard Bb joint. Is this the bottom half of an HP 'A'? The bell too seems a little oversize.

There's a long aftermarket barrel in some brown resin, at about 67mm.

The workmanship is superb throughout and all the mechanism works perfectly. The joints are a good fit. The UJ and LJ are almost indistinguishable except the LJ looks newer in general terms. It looks like it's been someone's pride and joy a long time ago as it's got fairly new leather pads, corks and felt throughout. But it only plays vaguely in tune with itself, and that at A=438. The long 'B' is particularly flat.

It's nice just as a thing to have, but can anyone cast any further light on it?

On what shall I focus? Like I said, the only thing that strikes me as odd is the length of the lower joint.

 OK, picture attached (I hope!)

I've put the LJ between the Bb and A of my Henri Selmer for comparison.
