There is a new clarinet concerto by Japanese composer Akira Nishimura written expressly for Karl Leister. It is in a very ethereal new age writing style but effective none the less.
Camerata Tokyo records recorded it with Leister playing.

Thanks for the heads up, rtaylor! I haven't heard this work, but I'm a fan of Akira Nishimura's music. His saxophone concerto, "Esse in Anima", is amazing.
For anyone looking for the Karl Leister recording, the C.D. is titled "Vision & Mantra - Orchestral Works of Akira Nishimaru".

Yeah I have that recording of this also. I didn't know the rules on this BBoard on listing recordings. i thought they would interpret it as selling the CD which I don't do.

He's playing a quintet by Nishimura at my school next week.
We'll see what it's like. I have to play Messiaen Quartet right afterwards. .
