Our clarinet quintet has been asked to perform on a 4th of July patriotic concert, but we have no "patriotic" music to perform. We do have a few pieces by American composers, but that is not what they want. Has anyone played any pieces that are based on patriotic melodies? Our group can play intermediate to advanced music.
I've ordered a couple of marches (Sousa) with an online service, but I'm looking for something more lyrical to contrast with those pieces. Any ideas? If so, where do you suggest I get them. Perhaps someone that specializes in clarinet or woodwind ensemble music? I've already searched the better know online sources (I don't know if I can name them on the board or not).
Thanks to all of the players that respond. I'm sort of baffled.
