To All:

I wish all of you a most Happy Easter today, may all your dreams for Peace come true!

Today my "new" Website was just put online. It's a work in progress, which I will be able to add to from time to time. Also you can contact me with any questions or suggestions on my online contact address. This great BBoard will still be a good way for us to exchange ideas and keep in touch, so I'll check in as often as time permits.

Please visit my new site with any ideas, suggestions, or general comments:

P.S. I was happy to include SOUNDS 1, 2 & 3, which include over 30+ years of my professional recordings! It was fun...

BAH! Never got so much as a sniff of playing in a single Requiem or Passion this Easter.

Chris, you are listening to the wrong stations! Right now WRCJ is playing Mahler's Symphony 2 (Resurrection)( which was preceded by Bach's "Christ Lag im Todesbad." Check them out for live streaming at http://www.wrcj909fm.org They are a neat station here in Detroit. They are more or less a resurrection of the late, great WQRS in Detroit which got bought out, and subsequently played some really nasty rock, then oldies, then Motown, and now is what I would call a "chick rock" station. Much of the old guard from QRS is alive and well on WRCJ, and they are now listener-supported, with some much-needed startup seed from the Kresge Foundation.

I hope everyone is enjoying Easter or had a great Passover with their loved ones. The best of all the holidays to my friends here.

Jeff

Earlier I said "BAH! Never got so much as a sniff of playing in a single Requiem or Passion this Easter."

Maybe not at Easter, but have just been asked to do Mozart's Requiem on Saturday, so better late than never.

Is today when the Easter Bunny sticks his head out of the ground to see if there are any wild carrots growing, or is that on Thanksgiving? I'm really confused...........

David I think today is the day we find out how much wood can a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood. Say that three times fast with a clarinet reed in your mouth. ESP

Just have to say I really enjoyed playing basset horn in yesterday's performance of Mozart's Requiem.

It was a scratch orchestra and choir with the minimal amount of players needed (and a good choice of musicians were picked for this), and the entire Requiem was part of a funeral service at the deceased's request, so all the movements were dovetailed in with the service instead of performing the entire work from start to finish in one go.

And certainly a good opportunity to give my Buffet basset horn its debut public performance as I last played that part with the clarinet transcription.
