 Senior Recital

Well, I am planning for my senior recital this fall and I have picked several pieces so far, but I need to find a nice chamber piece to add to the program... preferably from the classical period. So far I have chosen these songs (out of order):

Bernstein: Sonata for Clarinet and Piano
Lutoslawski: Dance Preludes
Sutermeister: Cappricio
Bozza: Fantaisie Italienne

So I think an older piece would balance this rather modern recital out... any suggestions? Or, do you know of another solo that would also be good to add?

Thanks.

How about some Lefevre? Or one or more of the Mozart church sonatas (arr Ettlinger)?

Vice nice program so far. Choosing a chamber piece may depend on your access to another musician. I'm assuming you've got an excellent pianist. If you can find an excellent violist, then how about a few of the Bruch Eight Pieces........beautiful romantic gems. Your violist could also do the Mozart Kegelstadt Trio with you. If you can come up with a cellist, then the Beethoven Op. 11 would be a great choice. Just a few suggestions......

Beethoven trio Cl/vca/pa op 11, it would actually give you pianist a chance to shine while the two of you play along.

Beethoven Op 11, a virtuoso piano part for Luddy, and quite accessible parts for the other two. Same with his Op 16.
