 Hello everyone,
This is my first time posting. I played the clarinet back in highschool and have decided to start playing again. I just purchased one off ebay and would appreciate any additional info anyone can offer. I have spent several hours googling with no luck. Here is the info I have:

It says Normandy with the emblem behind it. The case it came in says Paris France Noblet since 1750 Kenosha, WIS.

I really appreciate any help identifying this clarinet. I think it was made in the 50's to 60's. That is the only thing I was able to come up with.

 Thanks in advance,
 Angie

Hi Angie. as Margaret said, a Search [above] for Normandy will yield a great many of our discussions, but with little hope of close dating your N . Is yours wood or plastic, what is its serial # for starters? I have a couple of the N's [Leblanc's] plateau [covered holes] plastic Bb's, and overhauled a quite good wood N for a comm. band cl'ist, and may have its # . Their insts. were mingled with Noblet's and both became parts of Leblanc's lines. So some of L's history may help. In my view, the N's were, for a time at least, Leb's student line and were dropped about when Vito Pascucci [sp?] introduced the Vito cls, perhaps about 1970?? HELP, please. Tell us about how it plays, etc, after some repair/tweaking, it may be a good one. Luck, Don

 Thanx, Mark, Don

 Hi again,

 Follow this link:

 http://www.woodwind.org/clarinet/Equipment/HowOld/Leblanc.html

It estimates yours as from 1964; I have one from 1964 too

Are there any numbers around the shield (4/ 8/ 10/ other numbers)? If so, that is its model. A Normandy ___.

 Margaret
