The Bundy screw is hard to get tight enough to keep it from sliding down. A wing nut will be better. Any large hardware store will be able to measure the size and thread pitch and give you one that fits. If that's futile, any trained instrument repair technician will be able to make a screw from rod stock.

f you give up and buy the piece from thebandroom.biz, wrap a couple of rubber bands around it to make it easier to tighten.
