I was trying to find out info. about a clarinet I just bought. It is stamped M.LEMAIRE, ARTIST (with two stars below the word ARTIST). Is this clarinet associated with the Strasser, Marigaux & Lemaire brand. Is this one from Mr. Lemaire before his association? Was it made in France?
Bottom line, is it a good one?
Thanks

I once owned a Lemaire. SML (Strasser, Lemaire, Marigaux) produced three lines of clarinets - Strasser for Students, Lemaire as the intermediates and Marigaux for the pros.
It was a fine horn.

There is Lemaire of S.M.L., then there was a stencil brand Le Maire (two words). I would wager that M. Lemaire is another stencil brand.
