I was on Woodwind Brasswind's site shopping and looked up Humistat to find that they no longer are selling the humidifier as a stand alone item. Now they have it only in a combo with a humidity gauge. Bad idea!!!
I use 2 in my case, and typically my students don't want to spend $25 on a combo, they would rather get the humistat alone for about $9.
I wrote the owner of Humistat who I'm friendly with and he told me that Woodwind can sell it as they want to, so no control there.
If anyone wants to get the Humistat by itself, this is the link to get it directly.
http://humistat.com/prod01frame.htm and there's no shipping cost.
For that matter Doc Henderson has a $2 humidity indicator so really no need for the $15 gauge.....
To me it's the best humidity product out there. Much better and longer use than making one with a sponge, etc. as there is a water reservoir so just adding water once a week is enough.
disclaimer - I don't have any stock in the company, just an avid user.

I agree these are great. I have used them for a while with good results. I always have purchased direct and received good service and fast shipping.

David: Doc Henderson sells Hunmistats separately. Check his Web site. I just bought one from him.

David,
Initially, I had the same trouble finding the Humistat on the Doctor's Products Web site. I actually sent him an e-mail to ask about it. He pointed out that after you open the "Accessories" window, you must scroll to the bottom and click Page 2. There is, indeed, a second page of Accessories, which includes the Humistat and the hygrometer.
The reason you didn't do that, I suspect, is that you didn't SEE that there IS a Page 2 prompt. If your computer is like mine, Page One appears but doesn't immediately reveal the very bottom margin, with the option to continue to the second page.
