Has anyone heard of a William Norenbeyer clarinet, chrome, made in Germany? How about a Rene Duvel? A search revealed nothing, so I need some advice. These are antique clarinets. Thanks for any insight.

Hi Cindy
I have no idea about the clarinets, but I have sent you an email address of a person you might try and cold call to see if they can help.
When I was wondering around Paris earlier this year I came across a specialist shop that was an Aladdin's Cave of antique woodwind instruments. The owner was charming and very knowledgeable. I have emailed you his email address from his business card (not sure of the ethics of posting it here)
You could give him a try as I am guessing "Rene Duvel" is a name that if anyone knows anything of, he does! Nothing ventured nothing gained.....

It's Rene Duval (no relation to Shelley Duvall who was Wendy in 'The Shining').
Former oboe finisher
Howarth of London
1998 - 2010
The opinions I express are my own.

William Nuremberger -- a student-quality clarinet (I've had two)
Rene Duval -- ditto.
Both made probably 1940s-50s, so not all that old (in clarinet years).
