Itunes just added a series of Marine Band archives from its 200 year (now 210) history.
One of them features from 1960 the Verdi Rigoletto Var for Clarinet soloist, but no Soloist is named.
Who would have most likely done it then? Could it have been Merlin Petrof or would that be not his years?

My guess: Harold "Bud" Malsch (sp?) or Joseph Leo. Both of them amazing clarinetists and frequent "President's Own" soloists at that time. A few years early for Merlin.
