Has anyone heard a performance, or seen the music of this? (Michael Norsworthy and Simon Aldrich both come to mind.)
If so, can you give me an idea of the amount of rehearsal it would absorb? I imagine it's technically quite difficult for the individual players, but how about putting it together?

I think that karl-Heintz Steffens is going to play it in September in Jerusalem,
Maybe he is the right person to contact, besides Carles Neidich , of course.

The New York Woodwind Quintet is scheduled to perform the work on November 23 at Merkin Concert Hall in New York.

Hi Tony,
I heard the premiere. Lovely piece and Charlie really did a lovely job. BTW, I'm assuming we're talking about the new piece for clarinet and string quartet. There are two other quintets with clarinet, Quintet for Piano and Winds and the WW 5tet.
It is technically difficult but not more so than any of his other works and certainly no where near as difficult as the Concerto. For rehearsals, if it were me doing the scheduling, I'd want 5 rehearsals just to be safe for the first time through it including the dress. It's about 20 mins long so it's a substantial work. The quartet could certainly get together beforehand and go over all the bowing stuff and their various cues which would save YOU time. I'm sure that's obvious to you but worth mentioning since half the battle in doing something like is getting the quartet to count as a unit.
I have some questions for you that I will email privately having to do with period playing. I hope this helps Tony and best greetings from the other side of the pond!
