I used the selmer case listed above for quite some time, and I can attest it is a high quality case. I have not had real experience with the protec case though so I am not sure which is "better".

I use the Protec reed case and so does my daughter. We have been quite happy with them.
As to the cases, I don't particularly like either of the ones you mentioned. They don't have enough storage for my tastes, and I would instead recommend the Protec Pro-Pac clarinet case. It's a tad more expensive than the Metro, but much roomier. I keep a tuner/metronome, a spare mouthpiece, reed case, a Doctor's Black legend swab, Dr. Slick grease, tools and a floor stand for my clarinet, all in the case or the outside pocket.

Its a three side zipper case cover. I have it and am quite satisfied with it. I couldn't afford a case such as a BAM or Airway, so I bought this one. My R13 Attache case (standard case) fits well. There is enough storage for a vandoren reed case, an older 56 lepic reed box (the nice one) which holds a reed clipper, Mr.Slick cork grease, dust brush, screwdriver, wax lip protectors, and ligature plates. In addition the bag's storage hold my swab, large polish cloth, and two (yes TWO) barrels wrapped up for protection.
With all that in there, unfortunatly there is not much room for music, so I carry a nice leather porfolio.

I have the Selmer reed case, which I have open and shut daily for about 10 years. I agree with Keith on it's quality/durability! I usually keep about 10 reeds in mine, but you could esily cram a few more in there...

I think both of those cases are fine, although I don't particularly like the latches on either. The Wiseman cases have simple and relatively secur latches:

I got the big Protec for a prezzie one Xmas. It's a good day-to-day bag cos it's pretty tough and you can get loads of stuff in it. Not as well padded as some, tho.

I use the Selmer reed cases for all my instruments. It's a good product. Although the latches are rather flimsy and tend to get torn off over time. Two wide size rubber bands around the case takes over at that point.

I’ve been using the new Rico reed case all year now and all the members of the BSO clarinet section use it too. Besides holding the reeds secure, which is what a reed case needs to do, it comes with, and had a place for a replacement when necessary, a reed vitalizer so you’re reeds remain humidity controlled. It’s not fancy but looks good.
I am an uncompensated Rico artist but that is not the reason I use it, it’s just damn good, I’m sorry, that should be darn good. It does the job well and the vitalizer works well. Even though it may not be necessary, I still keep it in a sealed plastic bag for humidity control. The other member of my section do not do that. Although the Selmer reed case looks just fine, I have to agree with Ed Palanker that the Rico case, which holds eight reeds and the Vitalizer pack,
works very well. I had been using Vandoren plastic cases for four reeds, until a few got moldy or warped in the late fall and winter. I live in the Northeast and a heated house gets pretty dry.
After switching to the Rico case, the problems ceased. I've been rotating the same eight Vandoren blue box reeds (ok, flow pack) for more than seven weeks without a problem.
I only wish the case held at least 10 reeds. I may buy another, to enlarge the selection for reed rotation.
For $19.95, it seems like a good deal. The only drawback is paying to replace the Vitalizer pack...$4.99 a pop every two months or so. But if the reeds stay fresh and playable, it's worth it to me.

I keep my reed case in a freezer bag even though the case is supposed to be airtight. I've kept my Vitalizer packs, one for clarinet, and one for bass, for as long as six months or longer before they either began to get watered down or crystallize. Just keep the bag closed all the time. Never let it stay opened and they last a long time. When you choose a reed put the entire case back in the bag and don’t let the reed case sit opened, it will dry out the Vitalizer. You’ll be surprised how long they can last.
