Did anyone else see that funny metal thingy pictured at the top of the page where the ads are?

It's gone now (and I can't find it for want of looking), but looked like some kind of pneumatic device (cylindrical with rounded ends) that fits onto a high pressure air line, all in stainless steel or polished aluminium.

If you know exactly what I mean, and know what it does, post a link as it looked fascinating.

 UFO*
Only look at it if you are wearing your metal foil helmet.

Actually, it is a reverse engineered Bonade ligature with pneumatic hold-down mechanism.

I definitely saw it! I may be nuts, but my eyesight is still good.

Do UFOs exist online as well?

Come on, you lot. I'm not the only one who's had a close encounter on here! Please tell me I wasn't just seeing things, even if it was cigar-shaped and made of metal (and it wasn't an Uebel 'New Metal' flute either - even though they do exist).

That's google's advertising intelligence - it sometimes links "reeds" with "reed relays" or "reed valves" which have not much in common with woodwinds.

You'll see that every so often on pages with ambiguous contents.

That is why right now there is a small link type ad for Jimmy BUFFET (sic) at the top of the screen. For real!!

Yeah, it was right at the very top where the four ads normally are, but we get these in the UK:

 Courtney and Walker Ltd.
Leblanc Clarinet Specialists Friendly advice, Large Stocks
 www.courtneyandwalker.co.uk

 Flex-Chain Conveyors
Plastic slat chain in extruded aluminiun or stainless steel beams.
 www.monk-conveyors.com

 Play Clarinet
with Emma Johnson 5 free lessons. Full course £29.99
 www.icanplayit.com

 Stainless Steel Cleats
Variety of marine grade stainless steel cleats.
 www.juststainless.co.uk

Just noticed the last one on your list mentions steel as well!

Whatever it was, it was pictured connected to a high pressure air hose (or maybe a hydraulic line) with a threaded connector. Looked like a miniature domestic propane tank (which will be familiar to any US and Canadian residents).

Oh wow! Area 51. That's the top secret military base where someone once inadvertently invented a spyplane with perfect camouflage.

Apparently, they're still trying to find it!
