Hi,
I have an older clarinet that I've been trying to find information on, but haven't had much success with. I'm not much of an expert on clarinets, so sorry if my terminology is a little poor:)
Both the bell and barrel are marked 'Rampone Milano Brevettato' with what appears to be the letters C&R overlapping each other (I assume this represents Rampone & Cazzani), they both also have what I believe is the lyre with leaves logo as well.
The second joint is marked with the number '1760'.
I was just curious if anyone had any information as to how old this clarinet may be It's not in the greatest of condition and is missing its mouthpiece. I have pictures of it also, if it would help.

I'm quite unfamiliar with Italian clarinets, is yours of the Boehm or Albert fingering systems [modern or "1800"'s systems] ? Rampone is a known maker in Milan, the "Brevettato" may refer to an IT patent, and the "1760" may be their method of cl keying description, what we call 17 keys, 6 rings, a "standard Boehm" system. Age ?, does it have a serial number?, value ? prob. not much. A pic would help more knowledgable cl'ists than me. Don

I wasn't able to find any number on it other than the '1760'. I believe it is of the Albert system, but again I'm not much of a clarinet buff, probably better to include a pic and leave it to the experts.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It's a one-piece body full Boehm, but you need the low Eb barrel (with a key on it) between the bell and the tenon to get the low Eb.

Rite y'are Chris, , please forget my interpretation of 1760, I'd now suggest that was when Rampone was founded. Yes its a 20/7 Boehm, believing of the existence of the low Eb key-piece ??. Its very similar to my old Penzel-Mueller F B of 1920's vintage, and while perhaps playable, its value would prob. be what a "collector" might pay for it. Interesting, Don
