My daughter wants to do a clarinet choir for the commencement ceremony at her high school, come mid-June. She will not be graduating, but the clarinet section wants to do a nice number for commencement. The group would consist of an Eb soprano, a number of Bb sopranos, NO altos, a Bb bass or two and a Bb contrabass.
She is the only one who is really advanced, so it shouldn't be anything extremely difficult, but still something that will show off the group nicely. She would be leading either on Bb soprano or eefer.
Any ideas? SHe would greatly appreciate suggestions.

parts for Bb, Eb, bass, contra bass and alto clarinets
not difficult to perform, always a crowd pleaser, all players get their chance at a solo, wonderful blending of clarinet sounds and fun to play

No suggestions, but check out the last two issues of the Clarinet magazine. There was a 2-part article on starting/rehearsing/performing clarinet choir ensembles. They also had some recommendations for pieces to play. It would be worth checking out if you haven't already.

You might want to take a look at "Puttin' On The Ritz" (Irving Berlin, arranged by Eric Osterling, published by Hal Leonard Corporation). Scored for up to three Bb clarinets on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, plus up to two bass clarinets, with optional parts of two alto clarinets, piano, bass, and percussion. I've played the bass clarinet part of a clarinet quartet and it was lots of fun.

Also check out the Australian Clarinet & Saxophone (Quennsland Cl & Sax Society) - there are two list regarding clarinet choir pieces, one with Eb and the other without an Eb.

I second the Marriage of Figaro. We are playing it right now. Find the arrangement by Lucien Calliet. There is an Alto/Basset Horn part, that is cued in the Bass Clarinets, but mostly it is doubled. You should be fine without it.
