There is a really good internet sight for any of you in the market for clarinet jobs:
It's part of www.facebook.com
Once you create a membership on there (it's free) then you can add groups. It's really quite insightful...James Zimmerman keeps it very up to date with auditions and recaps of what happened at each audition..............
the name of the group is clarinet jobs....
I wish someone would have thought of this earlier................

Just FYI, you don't have to have a Facebook membership to visit the Clarinet Jobs group. It is a little hard to find, but at Clarinet Cache we just posted an interview with James Zimmerman, and the post links to the Facebook group. (http://www.clarinetcache.com/2008/09/facebooks-clarinet-jobs-interview-with.html)

Wow, that piece Zimmerman wrote is very enlightening. I had a good laugh at the fire alarm, but I can see how horrible that must have felt to have to continue an audition after such a major interruption. I never look forward to auditions, but especially now that he has given us some insight into the world of the major leagues, it seems even more of a daunting task lies ahead.

James Zimmerman sounded good, looked good, and spoke well last evening in the opening concert of the Nashville Symphony. The program was all-Gershwin, including the piano concerto with Kevin Cole, the Cuban Overture, An American in Paris, and the Rhapsody in Blue. I'm sure that Ehuda Gilad is as pleased as the symphony and its new conductor surely are. The televised version included commentary by the soloist, orchestra members, including Mr. Zimmerman, and Giancarlo Guerrero (music director designate).
