Dr. Alex Shigo's Writings on Clarinet Wood

Is anyone on the Forum familiar with Dr. Alex Shigo and his work & writings on clarinet wood? If so, I'd like to learn more about his work.

the only thing I know is from shigoandtrees.com
but i don't think it has naything about clarinet wood on it

My brother-in-law is a tree expert and was telling me about Dr. Shigo. One of the things he mentioned is how Dr. Shigo developed an electronic device that enabled him to test wood and determine which pieces would be especially good for being made into a clarinet. He also said that Dr. Shigo had written several papers about the clarinet and wood used in clarinets. Dr. Shigo, himself, was a clarinetist besides being a tree expert. I'd love to get my hands on his writings about the clarinet.
