 Music schools, NYC

To anyone who lives in Manhattan...
Any experience with the 3rd St.Music Settlement or Bloomingdale Music School (way uptown) or Greenwich School in the west village?
I want to get into an inexpensive program wherein I could take weekly private lessons and also do a beginner's chamber or small band sort of thing.

There is a clarinetist from here, Oscar Espina Ruiz, who teaches in Bloomingdale.

Heard and met him at an amazing concert he played with his trio this summer and besides his excellent abilities clarinet player, he came across as a nice person in his chat afterwards, talking to all the young clarinet students who had come to see him individually.

I think you just missed a concert by him yesterday but you can hear it at the Bloomingdale Music School website.

Hope this helps!
