I saw on www.musicalchairs.info that the Mississippi Principal Clarinet position is open. If I remember correctly there was an audition for this spot at the beginning of the summer. Any one know what happened? Why are they holding another audition?

I think Mississippi has had an audition each of the past 2 years at least. I don't know who won or why they keep holding another one.

Or perhaps nobody suited from the first set of auditions...so they're having more.

It was mississippi. They had an audition. The person that won it couldn't accept the job. Thus they are having new auditions.

The person who won the principle position the first time was Stephanie Zelnick but taught on the other side of the country so her husband usually would sub for her. Then the guy who won it this past year was from Hong Kong or something like that and never accepted the position so they gave it to the next person, so there having another audition for it. The only reason why I know this is cause Dr. Zelnick's husband is my perfessor and the current principle in MSO is the doctoral clarinet student here at Southern Mississippi.
