Hi All. Just a quick question about a Kaspar ligature. Has anyone ever used one? I have a chance to buy one and wondered if it's something that is worth trying. The one for sale was made by Frank Kaspar in Ann Arbor. I'm interested because I have a Kaspar mouthpiece and I love it, but have never tried a ligature made by the same man. My friend says he'll sell it for fifty dollars. Has anyomne ever had/used one with good results? Thanks for your insights!!

Fifty dollars!!! For that money, I would buy a Winslow and end my seach for the perfect lig. Bay makes a Kaspar-like lig which is as good as the original. The secret is in the design and, most importantly, the weight of the metal used. They tend to be fragile.

I've been looking for a Kaspar lig for years. And the only person i've ever found willing to sell one was asking $150. But he never produced one for me. If you try it and don't like it, let me know and i'd be happy to take it off his hands. My teacher has two and they're the best ligatures i've ever tried.
