 FLATTERZUNGE

Le Sacre du Primtemps, 1st mvt, two meas b4 reh #11 (Bb clar). I know the translation is "flutter tongue" (thanks to Google language tools), my question is how have you done it? Like a true fluttering of the tongue (roof of mouth or reed tip) or rather a "jazz" growl in the throat?

I'd say it's probably a true flutter tongue rather than a growl being the era in which it was written (when Jazz was in it's germinal stage), though I see no reason why you can't do a Jazz growl if that's easier for you to do.
