Feedback... (Reich NY Counterpoint)

So I've started recording my own version of Steve Reich's New York Counterpoint for 11 clarinets. It will be quite the task, but I'm going to do all the parts myself.

Nice so far... though it's hard to say much about a recording of minimalism with such a short excerpt.

Very Interesting, I really like it. I'll have to listen when you're finished with it. I've wanted to do multi-tracked pieces myself, I just have never found the time...I will get one done before the summer is over.

Thanks... it's a ten minute piece so that's a total of 110 minutes of recording (including the live track). I've got my work cut out for me, but it's an excellent piece!

Obviously it's all about how well you know the piece, but do you find it difficult to time entrances and whatnot? Especially after a long pause? I've never done any recording on clarinet under those circumstances, but I was doing some guitar work a few years ago and I remember a piece that was seriously annoying to get the right timing for a few uncountable entrances.

I'm just playing it line by line... each clarinet part will have at least one track. So right now i have 6 tracks that I've started and so far the parts really groove so it works well but it is going to take a while to complete.

I made a recording of new york coounterpoint for a recording students graudation project back when i was in college. I actually played each individual line along with the midi i made, and that kept the time much more even. Otherwise, no matter what i did, the bass clarinet was late
