Hello all,
Each day when I do my long tones, I work up as high as I can possibly play...which sometimes would go as high as an F two octaves above the top of the staff. However, lately I can't seem to get past a C# (right above super-C). Anyone have any ideas on why I suddenly can't seem to access these notes? I know certain reeds are better for these notes, but apparently none of my reeds are allowing it at this point. Could it be for some other reason? I haven't drastically changed my embouchure or anything recently. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Not trying to be a jerk but why do you need to play notes that high? I can't think of any music that goes above a high B flat or C. I'm sure some modern pieces might but besides that whats the point?

yeah, i know that very little music actually uses those notes...but i'd like to have flexibility beyond the upper limit of most music. incidentally, it's difficult for me to hit upper partials of the harmonic series.
