When I start to use a new reed, I always sanitize it dipping it in H2O2 or ReedLife to kill micro oranism who shorten Reed lives.(I know also Japanese tea has sanitization ability.)

But they have drawbacks:cancer inducing possibility for H2O2 and high cost for ReedLife.

Impacted somewhat by 'hot sause' posting, I found another way:
Gum dental care liquid, which kills germs inside mouth, includes Vitamin E, and lasts long. Can be used both for mouth and reeds.

Obviously,it is not bad for mouth and Vitamin E is known good to avoid anything organic from getting rotten. How is this idea?

I dip 4 reeds and will wait for 2 days to dry up in my ReedGuard.

P.S. To wet before using reeds, I use mineral water not city potable water. It feels better. Soft kind(less Ca+) seems better. No scientific background.
