So I recently purchased another clarinet..It was a Vito V-40, serial number dates it to 1979. I got it for $35 and I thought it was a decent deal. How much are these clarinets usually worth used?

The case is mint, the corks are fine, keys are a little dull, and all the notes are playable, but it sounds a little stuffy/hissy. Could this be a problem with the pads needin to be replaced? I am no technician, so I have no idea what to look for.

Take it to a professional technician to have it evaluated for leaks and playability.

used - on the auction site - they run about $30-75
after a full repad, i usually get about $150-175 for them, they make good marching band instruments.
repads cost more than they're worth, unless you can do the work yourself.
