hello,
in the piece for winband "e l golpe fatal" from dirk brosse, there is a trill i don't find how to do:
A# - C# (in the medium)
any clue ?

The best remedy in my experience is having your stand partner play one while you play the other, and legato tongue them as fast as you can and don't worry about coordination. It fools 4 out of 5 conductors

I don't actually find this one too bad.
If you're already covering the A# (I usually cover this with the ring finger of the left hand and three fingers of the right plus the right pinky on the C# key in this instance.) Then you only have to trill the first and second fingers of the left hand, and the thumb a little.
This kind of thing is covered on the second page of Jean-Jean's Vade Mecum.
Presuming that there are others trilling then you don't have to trill agressively...just fast enough that your hand doesn't cramp up!

the problem is that the first finger have to move from the A# key to the first hole, wath I don't find so easy when you need to trill fast enough during 4 measures in a slow tempo... don't have a clarinet here to try, will see this evening...

Hello Krams,
I understand the problem you're describing. If this is the case then you might need to alter your left hand position to accomodate this.
Generally speaking (read: everyone's hands are different!) you should be able to touch the F# hole, the A key and the G# key all at the same time. This requires your hand position to be a bit "higher" and to curve down to the instrument.
If your hand position is not like this, then by making this change not only will you remedy this trill area but you will also increase the efficiency of your playing throughout the throat tones, and subsequently improve your playing.
Please understand that I'm speaking generally! I haven't heard you play, but I advise all my students to make this adjustment. (by "advise" read: I make them do it!)
