I currently have a goldtone #3 mp and I wnat to upgrade. I saw the Hite Premeire on an internet site and saw how cheap it was (big +). Will this mouthpiece sound better than my current one?

The Hite Premiere is a very well regarded beginner mouthpiece. If you are referring to a Selmer Goldentone mouthpiece . . . that is generally not a well regarded mouthpiece. Exceptions do happen . . . but I think you would like the Hite.

Although I'm an amateur and don't have vast experience with many different examples of each mouthpiece, I do own both, and I'd rate the Hite as much better than the Goldentone. The Goldentone is one of Selmer's lower-end mouthpieces and I haven't liked the three I've found in cases with used clarinets. The one Hite Premiere I own is a good, free-blowing, all-purpose mouthpiece that plays well on most modern intermediate or beginner clarinets. I think it's a great bargain. It's not suitable for my antique clarinets that need shorter mouthpieces to play in tune.

I have both the Debut and the Premiere. To me, they sound, feel and look like twins - maybe they're made from the same blanks. ???
