 Buffet student clarinet

I've read countless posts about Forte and Arioso as high quality clarinets for young students. What about Buffet's student-level instruments? The B12 has undercut tone holes, etc., etc., etc.. It retails for $600-700, the same ballpark as those horns listed above. Is it a good instrument for the price for someone not yet ready to transition to an E11 or R13?

(Disclaimer - I sell Forte' Bb and C clarinets)
The price of the Forte' Bb is 2/3 the price of the ball park that you quote. Arioso clarinets are now a Chinese company. Tom Ridenour must have sold the design specifications to the Chinese company that produced them for him. Tom's new line of clarinets is the Lyrique and he offers hand tweaked models at a modest additional cost. I met the Arioso folks at TMEA last week at their booth and we had a nice conversation. The fit and finish of the Arioso clarinets as produced now is nearly the same as when they were sold by Tom but they are not individually assembled and tweaked by Tom.

LOH-

Thanks for this info, but I am still curious about the quality and value of the Buffet student line.

I am sure that others will chime in on their past and recent experience with the current incarnation of the Buffet B series. We have done our own evaluations but for marketing and comparison talking points.
