Ermmm... Led Zep II with the black gatefold sleeve. I haven't seen any others like this.

Cioffi doing Moz. Quint. on a warped vinyl given as an advertisement for Sinequaan (a soporific medicine). Nearly unplayable since it was cheaply printed vinyl and poorly stored until I blundered upon it in a stack.
Original First Chair album with Tony Gigliotti doing Weber Concertino....the analog version is still much better than the remastered CD taken from a six-hole vinyl. Unfortunately my original is scratched to death and a chunk missing from Sam Krauss' trumpet voluntary. Tabateau and Kinkaid sections remained unscathed.

Frank Weir, the Brit who could really, really play the sopo sax. I've got two of his early '60s disks. Wonderful stuff. Preferred to his jazz clarinet stuff.

A John Lennon autographed test pressing (one of 3 left) of his "Milk and Honey" LP.
Quick story: In '84, I had the dubious opportunity of purchasing Lennon's personal copy of his "Walls and Bridges" LP, however, the NJ store owner wanted $2,500 cash, and confided a seedy tale about it. He claimed to have gotten it directly from Mai Pang, Lennon's former personal assistant (and disputed lover). She had raided Lennon's NY apartment soon after his murder. Among other items, she grabbed clothes, more LPS and 45rpms to include 3 of Lennon's "butcher covers", artwork and napkin doodling, and employee Christmas gift, autographed index cards. I decided the wax was way too HOT for me; too bad to: inscribed on the inside jacket was the quote, "as it happened, August 24, 1974." Apparently, the scribble was in celebratory response to a call from his manager with the news Walls and Bridges just went #1 on Billboard ... he pulled his LP and recorded the moment. v/r Ken

I used to be a huge vinyl collector; at my best I had shelves about five feet wide, stacked four high with albums, so roughly 800-1000 if I had to guess. Sadly, a few years back, my house burned down clean to the ground. Nothing was left to speak of but a pile of ash and twisted metal. As we bulldozed the "house" a couple of albums emerged unscathed!

We dug and dug, but only those two survived. Just too hot for fire I suppose!

Tough question.
I would have to say"Sunday in Spain" by the Municipal Band of Madrid followed by an album by Gene Austin with some nice uncredited clarinet playing. I chose these because the have been impossible to find on CD. I wouls also add all of my Vinyl be Ella and Frank because the CD's don't seem to have the same warmth.

Young Lester Young - French CBS, even though a couple of tracks are not by Prez.
I picked up a rare Lucky Thompson (with the Basin Street Boys) record on the Exclusive label at a flea market for $3 (You're Mine Forever and Near to You) - but come to think of it, that's wax, not vinyl.
