BBC Radio 3 is doing a whole series of programmes on Tchaikovsky.
There are videos to watch, audios to download and transcripts that can be read.

Its on well into February and future programmes include Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky.
Hope you enjoy them as much as I am; the ones available so far.

Also, BBC 4 are doing a series with Charles Hazelwood called 'Discovering Tchaikovsky' which takes an indepth look into his orchestral works.
They did 'Romeo & Juliette' the other day, and I think it's the 6th Symphony this week - so they'll no doubt dissect 'the tune that's heard but not played' in the last movement.
For some reason, Radio 3 reception in my area is pretty useless.

It's probably not very good where he is in Spain either...so you could follow suit and listen to it on the net:-)

Chris,
Actually the Radio 3 website has direct links to the episodes of the TV series.
Tony, the "net seems to be better than the air", especially for classical stations; struggled for 20 minutes trying to get Radio Clasica here yesterday.
