 locating a repair expert
Author: jsb

I have a new buffet R13 and I am having some problems with it. I would like to have it checked by an expert. I live in the Washington D.C. area (actually the MD suburbs).
I would appreciate suggestions on who I could contact.
thanks,
Jim

I totally agree with Greg Smith that the Brannens are the "tops." However if Jim needs immediate and competent service for his R13, Lee Lachman in College Park, MD has my recommendation. You might also contact Ben Redwine, a sponsor of this website (in the Annapolis area); he sometimes has a "visiting fireman" repair expert working out of his house.

I just got my clarinet back from Brannen, and it's a different instrument completely. It's worth the small effort to ship your clarinet to them. I have had them work on several clarinets over the years, and the results have always been spectacular.

I second the nomination for Vince Marinelli in Wilmington, DE. If you don't want to drive that far, you can take it to Lee Lachman in College Park. Both do fine work.
