Anyone try BG TRADITIONAL *24K GOLD*
Author: Chris22311

Just ordered this ligature. Looks like an advanced bonade inverted. Just hope the rails are the only part touching the reed..

has anyone tried the vandoren klassik too? Just got that last week, am loving it, but wondering if this new gold lig will be something closer to what I want.

Compared to the Bonade it's great...

...if you want to deaden the sound.

Ha.
I bought a used A clarinet today that came with a pristine condition Bay ligature! What a nice surprise that was!

Chris,

I really like my Vandoren Klassik. I find it gives a very full, dark sound (or at least it feels that way - sometimes I think ligature preference is more about how it feels to the player than it is about sound to the audience). It really lets the reed vibrate, and it's easy to get on & off. I also really like my gold Bay ligature. It articulates extremely well, and feels "brighter and lighter" than the Vandoren.

I used to play on a BG Traditional Gold, but was not happy with my sound, so i switched to the Peter Spriggs Floating Rail Ligature, and it has served me very well. But I know people who love their BG's, so you may too. It all comes down to personal preference.
