Pyne barrels - taper & resistance?

One of my barrels is an old Pyne 1++ and sounds marvellous. On the website it's described as 'Pyne taper, low resistance'.

Other barrels are 'Moennig' low resistance, Pyne taper normal resistance and Peterson taper normal & low resistance.

I've never heard of a Peterson taper and found nothing via the search engine.

Can anyone explain why or when you'd favour a barrel with normal or low resistance?

Hi, I use the Pyne M type barrels for my clarinets. For the A horn I use the low resistance barrels. Thus, the blowing resistance is the same for both horns.

Before, with the stock barrels, the A horn was slightly more resistant when compared to the Bb horn.
