 Gonzalez/Mozart reeds

I’m experiencing a case of dejas vu!

I was one of the victims of the Morre reed demise many years ago. In retrospect, it was a blessing in disguise as I learned to make my own reeds and that’s what I have used ever since. That is, until about two years ago when I switched mouthpieces. The new mouthpiece required a different reed profile so I went back to buying some Vandorens while I got used to the new mouthpiece. Then I tried Gonzalez and particularly liked the Mozart reeds.

In trying to obtain more Mozart reeds, I’ve learned that Conn-Selmer is now the exclusive North American distributor for Gonzalez reeds but they do not have Mozart reeds. Davie Cane is out of stock and hasn’t replied to my last few e-mails. The latest piece of information I received was from Romina Valdez (of Argendonax/Gonzalez) who informed me that the Mozart reeds are being discontinued!!! So…..here we go again! Apparently, they are planning to replace the Mozart reeds with something similar sometime in the future.

Any suggestions as to where I might obtain Mozart reeds.

Thanks!

Tilly
