 Hi all,

I'm looking for a piece for my next recital. I want something for clarinet and CD, or electronics, or just something out of the ordinary. It must be funky, preferably have drums/adrumbeat, and be really 'out there' (I've never done anything like it before).

Any suggestions?

See if you can find a copy of "New Directions for Clarinet" by Philip Rehfeldt. It has a fairly extensive Bib on music written for clarinet w/tape or other electronics.

Best
Rick

 Try this, Morrigan:

In particular, listen to "Tagore Songs" (which have been recorded by Gerry Errante) and "Circles in the Sun." Neither is easy but both are, dare I say it, really cool. (Even without the clarinet part, the accompaniment CD's are fun to listen to.)

Best regards,
jnk

Thanks Jack, those Jane Brockman pieces are very similar to what I'm looking for! Awesome, thanks!

For my recital I am going to do one of Jacob Ter Velhuis's pieces for soprano sax and ghetto blaster on my clarinet. I think it would be quite interesting.
