 Do you understand that they are pitched differently?  1/2 step apart? 
The Bb is the more common instrument.  A's are used mostly in orchestras. 
 
Most folks would say that the A is 'darker' in tone.

i know the pitched  different 1/2 tone, and i know A used in orchestras .

 My 1924 Buffet A clarinet has a really sweet and mellow sound, unlike my Buffet Vintage Bb, which is dark but with a much livelier sound.  But there are A clarinets that exist with the same qualities as my Bb, and vice versa.   
 
Bottom line: It really all depends on the individual instrument.
