Is there someone who regualry subs or plays 2nd clarinet in the SPCO? I seem to remember they had an audition a few years back, but Tim Paridise is still the only clarinetist listed on their web page:

I don't know of any, its possible that they have a regular but I have seen different people playing along side Paradise so I would doubt it. Most of the time He is the only one up there anyway.

While in St Paul recently I heard a great jazz alto sax/ clarinetist....Brian Grivna. When I spoke to him he said he has played with the St Paul Chamber Orchestra. He sounded great on clarinet....beautiful sound and great technique.....Eddie look out!

I have played with Brian Grivna, and he is hands down the best woodwind player in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Former lead alto with Buddy Rich Big Band, also soloed with the Minnesota Orch. as a teenager. (Subs with both groups now as well). He's a super nice, down to earth guy, and a great player who is inspiring to be around...
