I am having cataract surgery next week with the next one to follow a few weeks later assuming all goes well. I am actually going to not play the last concert of the year with my community orch since both surgeries may be before the concert and I don't want to push it. Anyway, my question is this; How does the recorder rate compared to the clarinet in terms of vibrations, pressure up into the head, etc? It seems like it would be a safer instrument to play after a surgery like this compared to clarinet or especially oboe, french horn, etc. Is there anyone who has actually done any measurements or data gathering about this issue?
