The author did, however, omit Ricardo's recording of works by Archduke Rudolph from his "discography." I wonder if he asked Ricardo for a list of recordings. He certainly didn't check amazon.com.

Ricardo Morales is not really known around here, and I've never heard him play, but more important than that - he definitely sounds like a great person.
Is there something wrong with the picture, or does he have really big hands?

Thanks GBK ! I picked up the horn again after hearing Morales play the Archduke Rudolph piece on our local classical station. I spent months tracking down the sheet music and now play the first two movements right after my long tones early in my practice sessions. It's a wonderful reminder.....

Really interesting article, it's amazing that he was only 21 when he landed the Met job. I've only heard him a few times in recordings with Philadelphia and would like to hear more of him.

Hello. Thanks for the post. I went to Morales's performance of the Mozart Clarinet Concerto last year with the Philly Orchestra. It was well worth the three hour drive. I hope he records a new CD soon because I am wearing out the most recent one in my CD player! CN

Jack, I noticed the fact that the Archduke Rudolph piece was left out as well. That is a particularly nice recording. It was mentioned here on the bboard a few years back and I ordered it from Tower records. I'm glad I did. Beautiful piece. And, like Wayne, it makes one want to practice.
