I noticed that the Hite D Artist series mouthpiece is once again available
from WWBW. Are these new production or N.O.S. Is Jean Hite applying
these facings by hand.
I'm curious if anyone has tried them because I'm trying to find a backup for an excellent D facing which I believe was hand faced by David himself.

Mike,
Many thanks for the info. I hope their quality control remains high. The price is certainly right.
Although, I wonder if they will play as well as the originals. David Hite was a master and he will be missed for years to come.

I was very lucky to have had David Hite work with me breifly in getting the right fit so to speak. He was a very kind man and I have great feelings the Babbitt people have gone in the right direction. His mouthpieces have a super color and wonderful richness...indeed if quality control is high they should be very close to David's specs and feel.
This is a good news story in a clarinet world of dark troubles...
I look forward to trying some of these personally.
