does anyone know of Sydney Bishe or Biche ... not sure how to spell it... he was popular I believe over in France probably 20 to 30 years ago... I know that he is black... someone told me about him... and I haven;t heard of him before... so I was wondering if anyone knew of him... and maybe where I can get a recording... ?? Thanks for your help!!

I thought that he was just a soprano sax guy........not that there is anything wrong with that.

Check Amazon for available cds and listen to some clips. He played clarinet first ....then both. His nephew Leonard was not too shabby either.

Bechet is prominent on the soundtrack of the movie "Chocolate," but not on the separate "sound track". You can hear him with the movie. Wonderful
