Hello all
i've recently discovered that I've been anchor tonguing the whole time! i've just learned how to tongue correctly and the thing is I can't get my notes to come out clear and I have an audition(junior districts) this coming Saturday! Now that I'm tonguing correctly, i can't play the music as well as i did when I was anchor tonguing. Should I just go back to anchor tonguing since i'm used to it? i'm greately confused! Any help is greately appreciated! Please help me out!

Er...what is "correct" tongueing? So that the sound pops out clear, or with a specific part of the tongue? Not every person has the same shape of tongue, and so I assume there's not a "one size fits all" correct tongueing.

If I had an audition this week I'd concentrate on my fingers and the breathing and resume the tongueing I were comfortable with, at least for the time till the audition.

I would seriously advice you not to change now. You have already learned you music the wrong way so play it that way. If you can make it sound good then don't worry. But, after districts you should get back to the tip of the tongue. I used to anchor tongue and when you change notes squeak and don't sound good for alittle but believe they get better and it is worth it.
