I was really disappointed when, after a long wait, I got my BG metal "Tradition" gold-plated ligature from WWBW only to find it does not fit over any of my mouthpieces. The circumference is too small for anything I have. Obviously I'm sending it back to WWBW, but I'm really bummed because I so looked forward to using that ligature.
Am I alone here? I do use Selmers and vintage stuff which (possibly) are larger diameter mouthpieces, but, geez ...

Mouthpieces for b-Clarinet are almost the same size. You would have the same problems with any other Brands of Clarinet. Good luck finding bigger one

When I used my BG traditional, I found that I had to unscrew it almost all the way to fit it onto my Vandoren 5RV Lyre Mouthpiece. I have since gotten a Peter Spriggs Floating Rail which fits like a charm, though a bit expensive ($85) I absolutley love mine, and would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Same problem here. Also, the ligature binds close to the bottom of the reed making even just slightly warped reeds play like dog doodoo.
I am convinced the Vandoren Optima may be the the best all around "standard" ligature out there. Contact is made via a raised plate that hits the reed ONLY on the bark, in the middle.
Really, I haven't seen any endorsement monies rolling in yet. Who do I have to call?

It never ceases to amaze me that mfrs. are making ligs that don't make the trip all the way around the mouthpiece. I had the same problem with newer Bonades.
I just find this astounding.

Leblanc should be ashamed of themselves for marketing their present version of the Bonade ligature.
Unfortunately almost EVERY Bonade ligature needs to be readjusted due to poor quality control by Leblanc. All need to be re-bent (use 2 needle-nosed pliers) to their properly intended shape so the original Bonade design can work correctly.
The 2 long interior rails are the only thing that should be touching the reed. At present, the metal bands touch the outer edges of the reed which totally nullifies the design properties of the ligature.
Let's not even start to discuss the frequently misaligned and poorly soldered interior rails...GBK

I second the Vandoren Optimum! Mine just came in the mail (christmas $$ well spent) and it is a great lig. Although, on my mpc, I have to unskrew it the whole way to get it on, and then can only tighten it about 1/2 a turn or less. But I think my main mouthpiece is on the large side, as it fits really really well on my Selmer HS*. In any case, it works like a charm.
