Well gang....just got some more info from Ricardo over in Italy regarding the new reeds they'll be premiering at the Frankfurt Music Fair this year....
Here's what he wrote me....
......"Pomarico “Dream reeds” are exclusively manufactured with Arundo Donax. Cultivated in the biggest plantations of the world, they grow up without the use of pesticides and fertilizers and are left resting for two months after the harvest; afterwards they are hand selected by highly qualified experts.
The manual crop takes place during winter and the drying is natural: the canes are left in the sun until they get a perfect colouring. Our reeds are purposely studied to solve the problems of the most demanding clarinettists.
The Dream reeds are produced on the highest quality standards, using the best technology in order to get the finest sound results.".........
obviously they've decided on dream reeds as the name rather than bio-reeds......

Sounds like the same marketing blurb that Gonzalez uses for it's products. Perhaps a joint venture? But why would Gonzalez dilute its own brand?

Also sounds like the marketing pitch for Zonda reeds when they first came out.

It is common knowledge that excess harvests of cane are often sold to other reed manufacturers.
If a given plantation harvests more cane than is useable, it makes perfect business sense to sell off the excess - sometimes to competing reed companies.
Thus, that "one good reed" in every box may actually have come from cane that was bought on the open market ...GBK
