Any one know of problems with Brancher reeds or WWBW? I ordered Brancher Classics sz 4.5 back in September and so far all I received are back order notices. I talked to WWBW got an apology but no real reason. I cant fathom that it would take 5 months for reeds without a major catastrope shuting down the plant.

FWIW I cancelled my order (of very ordinary unexotic items) after 2 months. Went to 1stopclarinet and got my stuff within a week (and that includes one ocean and two customs offices)
Maybe it isn't WWBW's fault in your case. But maybe it is.

All I know is I ordered a few things from WWBW (a music stand and some instructional software for piano) as Christmas gifts, one week before the holiday itself, and they arrived in two days. Outstanding service, I thought.

I have been waiting on a bay ligature (for myself) and a ligature for my brother for 1 1/2 months, and they keep pushing back the date that it will be available.
My Setup:
R13 Clarinet (Ridenour Lyrique as my backup/marching instrument)
Walter Grabner K11 mouthpiece
Rico Reserve 3.5's
Bonade ligature

When they have it, it's great.
When they don't - don't hold your breath, cause if the date to ship isn't quite known for sure, it could get updated further and further back in time.
But that's like that for many places as suppliers are often unknown asto shipping dates.
I tried to order a box of reeds today from a sponsor here, and they wouldn't even take the order as the availability date was unknown and they were out of stock.

Ordered a set of timpanis from WWBW in June....still waiting for the last one to come in....it did come in twice, damaged beyond being usable.
We won't be using them again and I told them as much.
I'd cancel my order and go through someone else.

I've been waiting for a box of reeds for over two months. I got a notice that they would be shipped the 28th of Jan. Of course I got one a month ago saying they would be shipped at the end of the week. WWBW is just a place to avoid. Totally unreliable.

what david said - if its in stock, it ships almost immediately.
the problem seems to be that they list a large number of items that are not in stock - and some of them have long lead times from their suppliers.
i've learned to not purchase anything from wwbw that doesn't show up as being in stock.

On the other hand, I ordered some reeds from WWBW which listed as NOT in stock on the website, and got them in the same package as the ones they listed as being in stock.
As far as I'm concerned, they're usually pretty darn good, but I do know that their recent warehouse switch hampered their abilities for a few months.

I have stopped purchasing Gonzales Reeds from them. Some strengths are always unavailable. Typically backordered for 1 to 2 months. Davey Cane always has them available immediately and at competitive prices.
I've had a music stand, reeds, mouthpiece patches and mouthpieces backorder by WWBW, and when I purchased a new clarinet about 2 years ago they had no Festivals, Prestiges or Vintages available for trial.
Prices are good; availability mediocre. I shop elsewhere when possible.

ok, I'm thinking of leaving WWBW for the rest of my current order, can anyone tell me of other reputable sites that I can purchase a bay ligature and a BG metal jazz sax ligature for the alto sax? The only other site I have ordered from is www.prowinds.com, and they dont have either of these items.

I still order from WWBW, in spite of a couple of items that have
been back ordered since August. I have placed several orders
since then, and received everything else I've ordered. In fact
I just ordered a new Sabian crash cymbal for my son the other
day, and it has already been shipped.
There was a period of time this past fall when they were
not communicating too well, but lately that has been
much better.
Their prices are very good, especially since I always place
at least a $149 order and get free shipping. Sometimes
they have specials where a $99 order qualifies for free
shipping.
Of course this wouldn't be an option for someone who is just
getting a lower priced item such as a box of reeds or a ligature,
since you will pay shipping no matter where you order it.
I normally wait until I need to get a bunch of stuff, or one
larger item (such as the cymbal).

In the past few years we have ordered thousands of $$ worth of items from Music 123 which is the sister company of WWBW, and after this past fall we stopped. Last summer we ordered some items for our grandsons birthday. Never arrived, they did not return e-mails, did not answer any of their phones for at least 2 weeks. We did a charge back with Visa, after 2 months it all arrived. We just returned it. To their credit they did not oppose the charge back. We now buy from 1st stop clarinet and musicians friend. Music 123 did send an offer for free shipping on any new orders to compensate all the customers who had problems. Yeah sure. It seems as if they still aren't on the ball.

A couple of similar experiences with local stores, but I've learned to do place my order, then go home and do my own searching.
I ordered a Galper Method book and a couple months later the store said it still hadn't arrived. Since I was getting in a pinch I decided to drive about 15 minutes down the freeway to another store, where several copies were in stock. Imagine the look on the faces of the first store's salespeople when I cancelled the order.
An enterprising little restaurant down in Costa Rica, after receiving our breakfast order, sent a girl down to the corner store. She bought orange juice which promptly was served with our breakfast. No need there to say it was out of stock!
In another case I was told that a certain clarinet study book was out of print and no longer available - students here were begging and borrowing books. I went on the internet and did a search, following up with phone calls to suppliers to find out exactly how many they had in stock, and found that not only was the book still very much in print, but there were 17 sitting there between three suppliers ready to be mailed out.
Of course sometimes things just simply aren't available, but by doing some research you may save yourself some aggravation from waiting and wondering.
