I would invest in some solos over the method books (unless clarinet isn't your primary instrument). Standard literature (Weber Concertino, Mzart Clarinet Conerto, etc.) can easily be found on the BBoard, just conduct a search for a more complete list . As far as All-State goes, BE PREPARED!!! Know everything, an go into he room confident. Don't scope out the competition as that will only make you nervous, at least, that works for me ;)

In our community, we've just instituted an "Advanced Placement" Music Theor course in the high school. Going through that drill (a lot of bloody work!), understanding keys, chords, arpeggios, harmonies, chord progressions, ... will be a key to better playing, teaching and understanding of your music.

I need to get the instructors to step up an offer the course in adult night school.
