 KORG TM-40 Digital Tuner
Author: chazman

Hi Folks and Happy Holidays,

I recently purchased a KORG TM-40 Digital Tuner. Right off the bat I wanted to start having some fun with it. So just to get an idea I blew a simple middle "G" and the tuner reads it as a "F". Now, before I make my self crazy, does anyone have any experience with these digital tuner instruments? Clearly, I must be doing something wrong.

Any professional help would be greatly appriciated.

Chuck

The tuner reads in concert pitch, the clarinet sounds a whole step above concet pitch....Concert Bb= your C. Concet F= your G

Connor means: the clarinet sounds a whole step BELOW concert pitch.

Some tuners - I don't know about this particular model - can be set to correct for the transposition, so the tuner will read G when you play a G.

If there are so many people on this board unwilling or unable to have a civil and balanced discussion about important issues, then I shan't bother to post here any more.

To the great relief of many of you, no doubt.

almost all tuners read in concert pitch. I guess it would be cool get one you could calibrate to read the notes as written for your instrument.
