My son's apartment building caught fire in Ann Arbor last Monday. He & his roomate were unhurt, their apartment just suffered smoke damage, and the injuries to others were not life-threatening. Thank you, Red Cross, for supplying blankets, buses, food, and hotel rooms to those affected by the fire.
My wife ending up being car #3 in a 4-car accident yesterday due to bad road conditions . No one hurt, just damage to the cars. Cars are repairable, lives aren't.
Happy Thanksgiving indeed! I have much to be thankful for this week!

Much to be thankful for.
A very good year - More students than ever before, many performances, big band and combo gigs.
I even got lured out of retirement to resume instrumental teaching at an exclusive private school.
Even more fun the second time ...GBK

Mark, you're family has had a bad week for sure... Glad to here that you're son and wife both aren't hurt.

I was going to start a thread like this myself but worried it wasn't clarinet related. I'm glad you did, and thanks for being there to discuss my issues and, hopefully, not too stupid questions.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!
My mom is in the hospital and so it's just been me and my sister to take care of the house. Very hectic and plainly awkward! My mom went in on Monday and probably won't get out until Saturday. She has a staff infection in her face, but she's improving everyday and will be fine soon!
Did anyone else try to practice today? I did and I sounded bad! Too much stress from family and the thoughts of All-State auditions next Saturday.
Be grateful for everything/everyone you have! Life is too short not to!
